How AD&D Benefits Are Paid

When an accident results in death or certain types of injuries for a covered person, the plan pays a benefit. This benefit may be all or a percentage of the benefit amount for which you are eligible, as shown below.

Loss

Benefit paid (as percentage of benefit amount)

Life 100%
Any combination of two: hand or hands, foot or feet, entire sight in one or both eyes 100%
Speech, and hearing in both ears 100%
Total paralysis of upper and lower limbs 100%
Total paralysis in both lower limbs  75%
Loss of one hand, one foot or entire sight in one eye 50%
Loss of speech 50%
Loss of hearing in both ears 50%
Total paralysis of upper and lower limbs on one side of the body 50%
Loss of thumb and index finger on the same hand 50%
