SmartSource is Aetna’s new, intelligent online search tool that connects you to health information and Aetna programs and resources specific to you and your health needs – including estimated costs and doctors in your area.

Using your Aetna profile (where you live, your selected health plan and other information), Aetna SmartSource searches various Aetna resources, such as Aetna Navigator, DocFind, and Aetna InteliHealth, then provides you with information that’s relevant to you. You can find:

Doctors in your area who specialize in treating your condition, and who participate in your health plan.
Medications and treatment options that are commonly used.
Estimated health care costs.
Aetna programs and discounts that can help you manage your health needs.
Easy-to-understand health information about the topic you’re researching from Aetna’s vast health resources.

In addition, Aetna SmartSource provides you with a visual diagram, or HealthMap®, to help you see the full spectrum of information about your health topic – symptoms, tests, treatments, costs and prevention steps. The HealthMap allows you to gain a deeper understanding – for today, and for the road ahead – to help you manage your healthcare.

You can access SmartSource through Aetna Navigator, your Personal Health Record, or Simple Steps to a Healthier Life.
