Unum, via the Ayco Company, L.P., offers survivor financial counseling services as part of your Costco survivor benefits. Their trained financial counselors provide financial planning and advice to the survivor(s) of a deceased employee or insured spouse, or a terminally ill employee or insured spouse. They offer:
- Expert, objective advice at no cost to you
- A detailed, personalized financial plan
- Guidance and counseling for up to 12 months via a toll-free number
- Help with issues such as:
Settling an estate
Paying off a mortgage
Investment options and tax implications
Transferring titles
Covering daily expenses
Best of all, there's no selling just advice. When a claim is made on your survivor benefits, an Ayco counselor will be in touch to help the beneficiary develop a personal plan, answer questions and provide information and support during what can be a difficult time.
