Who Is Eligible

You

You are eligible for Costco employee benefits if you are a salaried, full-time hourly or part-time employee working an average of 20 hours per week. For other benefit eligibility criteria, refer to your Costco Group Benefit Plan Highlights Brochure.

  • Full-time hourly: 1st of the month following 90 days of service
  • Part-time: 1st of the month following 180 days of service
  • Salaried: 1st of the month following date of hire

In Hawaii:

  • Full-time and Part-time hourly: 1st of the month after 28 days of service (must have worked a minimum of 20 hours per week)
  • Salaried: 1st of the month after hire date

You are not eligible if you are one of the following:

  • Seasonal employee (except in Hawaii)
  • Limited part-time employee
  • Independent contractor
  • Leased employee
  • Temporary employee
  • Intern
  • Hired in connection with training or education

Your Family

If you are eligible for benefits, you also may enroll these members of your family:

  • Your unmarried natural or adopted children, or stepchildren through age 18 (or through age 22 if attending school full time)
  • Your unmarried children over age 19 who are not able to support themselves because they are disabled - provided they meet certain requirements, for example, became disabled before age 19 and were enrolled for Costco benefits at the time
  • Any child for whom you must provide coverage under a Qualified Medical Child Support Order (QMCSO)
  • Your spouse or domestic partner
  • Your domestic partner's children
