Medical Plans with Dental Coverage You can have a great medical plan with dental coverage at no extra charge! That's right! When you sign up for an Aetna medical plan, dental coverage is included. See below for details.
Our HMO and Aetna Open Access® HMO plans include the following: You have two choices! You are automatically enrolled in Basic Dental or you can switch to the PPO Dental Network.
Basic Dental
Select a primary care dentist (PCD) from our network by using DocFind® our online provider directory. (Use Aetna Navigator™ or call customer service to designate your PCD.)
Pay a $5 copay for cleanings, amalgam fillings and diagnostic X-rays.
Other services are available at a reduced rate that you pay directly to the dentist.
PPO Dental Network Option - fill out our online form or call Member Services at 1-800-537-9384 to switch

Each member pays a $20 annual deductible.
After the deductible, cleanings, amalgam fillings and X-rays are covered at 100% when using participating dentists.
Other services are available from participating providers at a reduced fee.
You may also choose to go out of network for cleanings, amalgam fillings and X-rays and Aetna will pay 50% of our negotiated rate. You are responsible for any difference between our allowance and the billed amount.
Our Aetna HealthFund® High Deductible Health Plan with Health Savings Account (HSA) includes the following:
Preventive services covered at 100% when you use participating dental providers.
Dental discounts on other services are available from Aetna participating dentists.
You may use your HSA to pay for qualified dental expenses.
Our Aetna HealthFund Consumer Driven Health Plan includes the following:
Preventive services are covered at 100% when you use participating providers.
A Dental Fund of $300 for single or $600 for family coverage that can be used towards other dental services
Any unused Dental Fund dollars will roll over to the next year as long as you remain enrolled in the plan.
Fund can be used in or out of network but you will receive discounts from participating providers, even after you exhaust your Dental Fund.
