Medical

Visit your primary care provider (PCP) Though having a PCP is not a requirement for Aetna Open Access, we encourage you to establish a relationship with one as it can help you better manage your health and possibly save you money on covered health services. Your PCP can provide routine care, treat you for illnesses and injuries, and recommend you to other participating providers or specialists if required.

Go directly to in-network specialists You are free to choose Aetna network providers for covered services — without a referral.
Dental

You are automatically enrolled in the Basic Dental option. To access dental benefits under the Basic Dental network: All you have to do is call Aetna to select a primary care dentist from our Basic Dental network and you are ready to go

You may switch to the dental PPO network option. To access dental benefits under the PPO network: Just complete our online form or call Aetna at 1-800-537-9384 and ask to be switched to the dental PPO network option. You may also visit nonparticipating dentists at a reduced benefit level. See benefit highlights for more details.
